QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of a 720-hour training program nationally accredited Medical Assistant program including courses in Medical Office Procedures, Pharmacology, Medical Billing/Coding Procedures, Anatomy & Physiology, and Medical Terminology
Venipuncture and capillary puncture
Obtain, prepare, and record case histories and medical reports
Utilize laboratory techniques to perform routine tests: Urinalysis, Hematology, Chemistry, Immunology, and Microbiology
Handle basic computer functions such as patient date input and billing, including ICD-9 and CPT coding, insurance claims and fee schedules
Manage patient files, patient charting and medical records, keyboarding in MS Word
Answer incoming patient and physician referral calls, schedule and manage appointments
Vital Signs, EKGs, prepare and maintain treatment and examining rooms
Operate a variety of laboratory instrumentation including autoclave, centrifuge, Glucometer, Reflotron, microscope, and blood pressure cuff with stethoscope
Prepare patient for and assist with routine and specialty exam, procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries, perform sterilization techniques and medical surgical techniques
